A 56 page educational booklet to accompany the documentary, Promised Land. It was developed to accompany the film and provide discussion questions and academic and cultural background to accompany many of the topics discussed in the film.

ABOUT THIS BOOKLET
This educational booklet was written by Chinook Nation citizen, Aaron Ero Jones and Promised Land associate producer and composer, Claire Salcedo. It was developed is provided for free thanks to the generous support of a 4Culture grant, along with a grant from Artist Trust.
The material was reviewed and advised by Jon Daenke, PhD and Coll Thrush, PhD and Chinook Nation treasurer and secretary, Rachel Cushman, a doctoral candidate at University of Oregon’s Indigenous Race and Ethnic Studies Department, along with the Chinook Nation Council. Thanks to the educators and both the Duwamish Tribe and Chinook Nation council, elders, and citizens for their participation in the project. This project was supervised by Sarah Salcedo, producer and co-director of Promised Land and designed by Vasant Salcedo, co-director and editor of Promised Land.

The design of the booklet was designed by director Vasant Salcedo, on behalf of Tall Firs Productions (the Salcedo’s digital media company). The poster was designed by Sarah Salcedo, through Tall Firs Productions, and the bear design both in the poster and within the booklet, was designed by indigenous artist Jeffrey Veregge.
