Proudly Supported by 4Culture!
We are so pleased to announce that 4Culture has awarded us a Heritage Grant. Our film has been in a holding pattern the last few months while we secure funding for the post-production process. This grant will allow us to obtain archival photographs to use in the film to create dynamic, visual bridges between the interviews and the historical reality to which our subjects are referring.
Working with 4Culture has been one of the most encouraging experiences we've had in the long slog that has been the grant process for our film. The staff at 4Culture was beyond helpful and the research library that they provide is an astounding resource and a rarity in the world of grant research. Indie documentary work depends on grants from generous organizations and we're so lucky to be able to partner with 4Culture to tell this story in the best way possible, as well as enjoy continuing sponsorship from San Francisco Film Society and contributions from many stalwart champions of this film and its story.
We're still pursuing other grants and hopefully, by early this summer, we'll have enough funds to finish post-production and submit this film to festivals this fall. We have some exciting news to announce about the creative approach we'll be taking to the final cut of this film and we look forward to announcing them in June!
Until then, we're continuing to work hard on post-production, grant-seeking and now, thanks to 4Culture, we can start the research and archival acquisition phase.
